Come on a horse riding trip with us to see the beautiful countryside around Arequipa, Peru in a different way. You will enjoy the wonderful experience of riding our gentle Peruvian Step horses. We ride through lovely countryside and admire the beauty of the fields, Arequipa and the volcanoes surrounding it. No horse riding experience is necessary. Our horses are well trained and you will be accompanied by an experienced guide.

ITINERARY: Horse Riding around Arequipa
SABANDÍA – YUMINA
Start at 8am or 1pm. We pick you up from your hotel and drive for a half hour to get to the Arequipa countryside of Sabandía (2400m), where the horse porter waits for us with the saddled horses and all the necessary equipment. After a brief instruction on handling and treatment of our Peruvian Step or gentle horses, we begin our horse ride. We go through pleasant landscapes, crossing little rivers and we see farmers working in the fields. We also appreciate the amazing cultivated fields on the terraces or «andenerías» of Incan time.
After one hour we arrive at Yumina Lookout to have a great view of Arequipa City. Then, we descend towards a flat area where we can gallop, if you like. Our last section is through a small canyon alongside the river. We also have the opportunity to admire the spectacular volcanoes that surround Arequipa: The Misti, Chachani and Pichupicchu.
The horse riding takes three hours with an hour round trip transfer.
